The YASHA exhibition!

Sunday, February 3rd, 2013 by admin

It is done! After 7 years on this project… at least in my mind and in my journey with God .
YASHA- BREAKING FREE is now finished. May the purpose for what this has been created come to its full completion!
That of women all over the world being set free from the bondage of once being captive to sexual abuse.

I just want to thank Carol and Feo Sachs for a wonderful stay in Plett. The studio TREEHAVEN was truely one of the most amazing spaces I have ever stayed. Carol is an artist in her own right – painting the most beautiful work of figures. Visit het work on www.carolsachsartmatters.com. make sure to stay in TREEHAVEN when in Plett!_DSC1541_DSC7264_DSC8337_DSC8348_DSC8451_DSC8357_DSC7720_DSC8543_DSC8990_DSC9039_DSC8477_DSC8488_DSC9179 2_DSC9260 2_DSC9201 2_DSC9396 2_DSC9463 2_DSC9514 2_DSC9668 2_DSC0066310511_DSC0248310511_DSC0323310511_DSC0409310511_DSC0644310511_DSC0679310511_DSC8086_DSC0930_DSC1046_DSC7378_DSC7589_DSC0466310511South Africa’s first annual International Land Art Event in Plettenberg Bay May2011. Working so close to artist’s like Strijdom van der Merwe, Urs Twellmann from Switzerland, Angus Taylor, Gabriele Meneguzzi and Vincenzo Sponga from Italy, and our own Jan van der Merwe was a wonderful experience. getting to know the way they work , dream and create was an absolute priveledge ! The challenge was to get the artist’s as they work and then to capture the final works of art for a book that will be launched in September. Selected  images  by permission only,  from the final selection will be for sale for the artsist’s on www.kahlaucorp.com

“DIE SKRIF AAN DIE MUUR ” exhibition hits the road. Easter 2011

Monday, May 2nd, 2011 by admin

The idea to take SKRIF AAN DIE MUUR or THE WRITING ON THE WALL on the road came , after I was sick of hearing from christian churches that the images are to radical, and from art Galleries that it is to religious . So I decided to take the images back to places of graffiti. My friends , Pieter en Mariana van Tonder started on April the 1 st on a 6000 km journey through South Africa with the art on their bikes.Watch this space for their images and there amazing experiences.

On April 22  , on a BMW R1200 GS , Andreas and I also  took the ART  on the road as part of the FIRE Trails initiative. The aim was to put the grafiti images on top of defiled walls all over South Africa on desolate places.

We started in Beaufort West at the railway bridge, then to Calitzdorp, Ashton, Hermanus , Struisbaai, Bredasdorp , Cape Town and to the southern most tip of Africa, Cape Aghullas. From there Andreas went alone up the wet coast  to  Lambertsbaai , cape Nolloth , IMG_1913IMG_1918IMG_1922IMG_1930IMG_1933IMG_1940IMG_1997IMG_2004IMG_2092IMG_2093IMG_2096IMG_2116IMG_2124IMG_2179IMG_2181IMG_2191IMG_2197IMG_2225IMG_1980IMG_1971IMG_1970IMG_1988Alexanderbaai and back to Pretoria. We had an amazing trip, 21 IMAGES ON 12 DIFFERENT SPOTS AND 4440 KM later. For me this was a personal and prophetic journey, a journey of the spirit.Read more about the SKRIF AAN DIE MUUR on my website under EXHIBITIONS.
